This is the Certificate of Vote of the New Hampshire Electors for president and vice president in the 1792 election.
When a person votes for a presidential and vice presidential candidate, they're actually voting for the slate of electors representing their choice for president and vice president. The electors meet and vote for president and vice president. The electors record their votes on a Certificate of Vote and then send their electoral votes to the President of the United States Senate.
New Hampshire's six electors consisted of: Josiah Bartlett, President (Governor) of the State of New Hampshire; John Pickering, Chief Justice of the New Hampshire Superior Court of Judicature; Benjamin Bellows; Ebenezer Thompson, Justice of the Strafford County Court of Common Pleas; Jonathan Freeman, State Senator; and John Taylor Gilman, State Treasurer.
On December 5, 1792, the electors met at Exeter, New Hampshire, and unanimously cast their votes to re-elect George Washington as President and John Adams as Vice President.
