The original caption for this photograph reads: "PFC James E. Stadig (Solvang, Calif.), rifleman, and other members of Co D, 2nd Bn, 35th Inf, 3rd Bde, 4th Inf Div, come out of a Viet Cong cave after checking it for Viet Cong men or equipment during a one day search and destroy mission in the Quang Ngai Province, 8 km west of Duc Pho."
