First, ask students if they have any prior knowledge on Hiroshima or what happened there during World War II. Then, provide the students with the physical copies of the primary source that have been printed out. After every student is done reading through the document, assign them into groups of 3-4 to discuss what in the document stood out to them and what we can learn about that era from the source. Then, close out the lesson by asking the students to reflect on how those events could have impacted the world up until today.
Students will read through an eyewitness account of the Hiroshima bombing. They will then form groups of 3-4 and discuss what stood out to them and what they thought was important.
