Hiroshima Account Discussion
You’ll be reading through a firsthand account from someone who lived through the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, in World War II. The goal is to understand the human experience of this event and think about how personal stories shape our understanding of history. After reading through the document, you form small groups of 3-4 and discuss what stood out to you. As you read, underline or highlight details that show what the survivor saw, felt, or thought. If you see a line that particularly stands out to you, be sure and make a note of it. In your group, take turns sharing what stood out to you. Use the text to support your ideas and listen carefully to others.
