Pastor Lee A. Howe of the Oneida Baptist Church, of Oneida, New York, wrote to Senator Morris Sheppard, chairman of the Senate Military Affairs Committee objecting to the Burke-Wadsworth bill. The Burke-Wadsworth bill required males between the ages of 18 and 35 to register for the draft.
