Description
This activity engages students in interpreting and evaluating the end of the international slave trade in 1808, the hiring out of slaves, and the domestic slave trade. Students do this by analyzing with an economic lens a domestic slave ship manifest, two receipts of sale of slaves at different points in time, a slave payroll, and the law banning the international slave trade.
