Technical Sergeant Morton J. Freedman submitted this statement of his rescue from Kham Duc, Republic of Vietnam. Freedman and the other two members of the Combat Control Team stranded at Kham Duc were under such intense fire from the enemy; he believed that he would not make it out alive. The May 12, 1968, rescue he described earned Lieutenant Colonel Joe M. Jackson the Medal of Honor.
