This act expanded the provisions of the National Labor Relations Act of 1935, which established the National Labor Relations Board and addressed relations between unions and employers in the private sector.
The full title is: Act of June 23, 1947 ("Taft-Hartley Act") Public Law 80-101, 61 STAT 136, "to amend the National Labor Relations Act, to provide additional facilities for the mediation of labor disputes affecting commerce, to equalize legal responsibilities of labor unions and employers, and for other purposes."
