This Pioneer Women Statue by Bryant Baker was unveiled in April 22, 1930 (the 41st anniversary of the famous Oklahoma Land Rush) in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Standing 17 feet high and weighing over 6 tons, the statue was funded by oilman and later Oklahoma Governor E. W. Marland. The figure is depicted wearing a bonnet, holding a book and bag in one arm and grabbing a child's hand in the other.
