This is a copy of an engraving by Alfred Jones, based on a painting by Peter Frederick Rothermel. It shows Patrick Henry giving a speech before the House of Burgess denouncing the Stamp Act of 1765. The original title is "Patrick Henry before the Virginia House of Burgesses, May 30, 1765."
