The Oregon Trail Immigrants Memorial by Leo Friedlander was dedicated on the Oregon State Capitol Grounds in Salem, Oregon in 1934.
The relief sculpture depicts a covered wagon and a pioneer family with a horse. Inscribed on the base is "Valiant Men have Thrust our Frontiers to the Setting Sun."
On May 30, 2020, during a series of national protests against police brutality and racism in policing, the monument to Oregon Trail immigrants was vandalized wtih spray paint by protestors.
