Walter Gobitis filed suit on behalf of his children Lillian and William who, because of their religious beliefs, refused to salute the flag in school. The children were expelled and forced to attend a private school at the family's expense. This document is the judgement, order and decree that Minersville School District could not expel the children or require them to salute the national flag as a condition of their right to attend school.
