Astronaut Sally Ride drops from a 15 foot high boat platform into Biscayne Bay during an Air Training Command "Drop-and-Drag" Exercise. The boat will pull Ride through the water until she can stabilize herself and release the parachute risers. The exercise is designed to simulate beig dragged through the water by a parachute, 8/1/1978
