The original caption of this photograph reads: High on a lonely hill overlooking one of the numerous inlets in the vicinity of this northern outpost, this machine gun crew is on the alert for any attempted landing by enemy troops. Though there is sun, occasionally, the heavy clothing of these men is evidence that the temperature isn't always the most agreeable in the world.
