Pam Kaplan sent this request to end the war in Vietnam. She wrote: "Please stop the war in Viet Nam my cousin is in. And I want the United States to settle down." Included is the response from the White House.

Dear President Nixon,

Please stop the war in Viet Nam my cousin is in.

And I want the United States to settle down.

Dear Pam:

On behalf of the President, I wish to acknowledge your letter and to thank you for your comments. He wants you to know that he and his advisers are doing everything they can to obtain peace in Vietnam and to solve our problems at home.
