The Wright Brothers Monument by Rodgers and Poor (architectural firm) was unveiled in 1932 in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.
Standing 61 feet tall and constructed of out concrete with a granite veneer, this Art-Deco inspired shaft is decorated with stylized sculpted wings on both sides. Inscribed around the top of the base is “In Commemoration of the Conquest of the Air by the Brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright Conceived by Genius and Achived by Dauntless Resolution and Unconquerably Faith.” In addition, the names Wilbur Wright and Orville Wright are inscribed on the shaft.
