This newsreel shows crowds in Times Square celebrating news of V-E Day and people praying in churches. It also shows President Truman announcing the German surrender, U.S. and Russian troops meeting at the Elbe River during the last days of the war, Gen. Emil Reinhardt, raising of the American flag over Nazi headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany, and blowing up the Nazi swastika.
