This annotated typed transcript of Mrs. Johnson’s tape recorded account of the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated served as her official statement to the Warren Commission, the organization created to investigate the assassination. Some of the handwritten notations on the transcript are in Mrs. Johnson’s hand; others are in the hand of Abe Fortas, a prominent Washington attorney and close friend of and adviser to the Johnsons.
