Description

This telegram from Jane Addams and other women asks the Department of Labor to reconsider their decision to deport Emmeline Pankhurst, a British suffragette. The authors wanted the board to maintain “America’s devotion to liberty.” It comes from an appeal of English suffragette Mrs. Emmeline Pankhurst for admittance. This document was digitized by teachers in our Primarily Teaching 2014 Summer Workshop in Washington, DC.
