The original caption for this photograph reads:
During the night of 10 June 70, Viet Cong terrorists units attacked the vilalge of Phanh-Ban and Phanh-My, located 17 miles East of Danang for two hours. More than half of the villages was totally destroyed by fire and explosive used by the Sapper attackers because the Villagers, were loyal to the Saigon government, but refuse to Support local VIet Cong activities or give rice to the Communist.
The village protected by a few Popular Force Troops were surprised by the Viet Cong and more than 150 civillian villagers were slain during the early morning raid.
