Valencia of Manila, Republic of the Philippines, raised her nation’s flat outside her cabin at Edith Macy Training School, an outdoor camp for Girl Scout leaders in Pleasantville, New York. She is assisted by Miss Ruth Cuniff, U.S. leader of the Edith Macy staff. Leaders from nine countries attended the international conference at the School, where they discussed Girl Guide problems and outlined programs for strengthening international friendships. The meetings were started in 1942.
