The original caption for this photograph reads: Pvt. David Van Velsor (Baldwin, N.Y.) Bty. A, 1st Bn, 4th Arty, 108th Army Gp. reads a letter from his girlfriend after mail call at Gio Linh. The unit supports Marine elements along the DMZ and Gio Linh.
