The Old Crossing Treaty Memorial was erected in Huot, Minnesota in 1932.
Inscribed on the base is the following: “The Red River Valley of the North then included in the state of Minnestoa and the territory of Dakota was ceded to the United States in a Treaty signed near this spot on October 2, 1863. Negotiated by commissioners Alexander Ramsey and Ashley C. Morril and the Chiefs, Headmen, and warriors of the Red Lake and Pembina bands of the Chippewa Indians. Erected by the United States 1932.”
