President Gerald R. Ford ordered the evacuation of the last Americans from South Vietnam on this day in 1975. This photograph shows Ford presiding over a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the situation. The North Vietnamese captured Saigon two days later, the Fall of Saigon.
