Dear Sir!
We are writing you a short letter here and I hope your Hon! you will take our letter under consideration. first We must Explain to you that We are two of the boys in the so called Scottsboro case of Whoim have been combined in the confinement of jail for fifty months and I am quite sure your Hon! you have read every article in the papers concerning our case and in your doing so by fully studying and considering the true facts of our case you find that We are some poor Innocence boys of Whom only trying to pass through hunting jobs so as to support my poor helpless mothers and sisters. and our father have been dead every since November the 16th 1923. and We have been the only Support our mothers and Sisters had every since until March 25th 1931 and then We Were unjustly arrested and accusof attack upon two White Women and Was tried in April 1931 and unjustly convicted but the US Supreme Court set aside our conviction in November 1932 and have been Waiting every since to be retried, now Your Hon, you can just Imagine how We poor boys have suffered in this confinement from our dear old helpless mother of whom are unable to help herself, and Your Hon Sir We are begging you in the name sake of our dear old mother to bring our case to a early conclusion and in your decision Sire we feels assure that We Will be Well Satisfied because our dear mother is anxiously Waiting on her two Son’s return home.
