Description

In this letter, Allan Knight Chalmers, minister and Chairman of the Scottsboro Defense Committee, asks for legal advice from Forney Johnston, a prominent Birmingham lawyer and son of the former Governor of Alabama. In it, Chalmers outlines a proposed settlement for the Scottsboro boys from the State of Alabama.
