This photo shows the arrival of Assistant Secretary of the Navy Franklin Delano Roosevelt and others at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The battleship being built, USS Battleship Number 39, was christened as the USS Arizona. It would be bombed during the the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
