The original English caption for this photograph reads: “Poland, Warsaw. German troops parade before Hitler in Warsaw. The tribune of the Fuhrer.”
It comes from a series of photographs that were taken by propaganda units of the German Armed Forces (Wehrmacht) and the Waffen-SS. The images were seized after Germany’s defeat in World War II. They document Germany’s invasion and occupation of European countries, military action, German soldiers and leaders, POWs, civilian life in Germany, and bomb damage to German cities.
