J. H. Hayden and Angus Hamilton, president and secretary of the General Meade Circle, respectively, wrote this letter to President W. H. Taft. It addresses disfranchisement and specifically the Grandfather Clause, directed against the African American citizens of Oklahoma. They requested action against enforcing a disfranchising amendment to the Oklahoma constitution.
