The Francis Vigo Statue by John Angel was erected in Vincennes, IN in 1936.
The statue, which measure nine feet wide by four feet deep by eleven feet tall, depicts Francis Vigo as a fur trader resting his arm on furs.
On its east side, an inscription on the statue “1747 FRANCIS VIGO 1836.” On the west side, an inscription reads “Native of Sardinia, Soldier, Frontiersman, Tradesman. His Wise Counsel and Material Aid Enabled Clark to Capture Fort Sackville. Citizen of Vincennes.”
