Christian Nichols served six months as a private in Col. John Keller’s regiment of the Bucks County (PA) Militia during the Revolutionary War. In 1820 P. Atta completed this fill-in-the-blank German-language illustrated family record (Fraktur) recording the birth and baptismal of Christian’s son Daniel. It was printed by Johann Ritter of Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Fraktur was filed with the pension application of Susannah Nicholas, Christian’s widow. Susannah received $20 a year beginning in November 1840.
