Abraham Requa married Bethyah Hopkins on October 18, 1782, as recorded on this illustrated family record (fraktur). He served as a private during the Revolutionary War for more than two years. While he was never in a large battle, he was present at several skirmishes. Bethyah submitted this record to support her claim for a pension based upon her husband’s service. She received $80 per year beginning in 1834.
