This simple form describes a deadly battle during a September 28, 1918, patrol by five planes from the 147th Aero Squadron near Romange, France. After attacking several vehicles along the Romange Bantheville Road, the Americans spotted an enemy aircraft on a reconnaissance mission. In the ensuing battle, an enemy plane went down in flames.
