Mikael Amerikian filed his declaration of intent to become a naturalized American citizen on April 10, 1929 in the District Court of Maine. Among other requirements, he would need to prove that he had a good moral character, an attachment to the principles of the United States Constitution, and a favorable disposition toward his new country to qualify for citizenship.
The Declaration includes Amerikian’s address, age, occupation, a physical description, date and place of birth, date of emigration, last foreign residence, vessel that he arrived in the United States on, port of arrival, and his wife’s name and place of birth.
