Description

This photograph shows President Jimmy Carter and former President Gerald Ford in the Oval Office at the White House. They discussed Ford’s upcoming trip to the Middle East.

During his time in office, President Ford made significant progress in the Middle East Peace Process, including the lifting of the oil embargo against the United States that was imposed by Arab members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) following the 1973 Arab-Israeli War.
