President Jimmy Carter, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin were photographed on September 7, 1978, during one of the Camp David (Maryland) summit meetings. The meetings ended with the signing in the East Room of the White House of “A Framework for Peace in the Middle East Agreed at Camp David” and a “Framework for the Conclusion of a Peace Treaty Between Egypt and Israel.”
