What Else Was Happening During the Civil War Era?
Finding a Sequence
In this activity, you will see 16 documents in random sequence, all of which were created between 1850 and 1877. The years leading up to, during, and following the Civil War are most often remembered for the tension between North and South, the slavery question, President Lincoln, and Reconstruction in the postwar South. Other important changes, however, occurred.
Closely examine each document to determine what change was taking place and move the documents into the correct chronological order.
