The Fight for Women’s Suffrage
Women’s Suffrage was a long debated issue in American history. The topic was first introduced at the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848. In 1920, the right for women to vote was added to the Constitution through the Nineteenth Amendment.
You will review each document and decide whether they opposed or supported Women’s Suffrage. Place each document on the correct side of the scale.
As you work through these documents, please keep note of the reasons each document contains for either supporting or opposing Women’s Suffrage as a Constitutional Amendment. Write any key details you find in each document and keep note of historical figures who played a role in the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment.
