Today’s activity centers on analyzing the historical context and ethical debate surrounding the use of the atomic bombs on japan during World War II. The images you see depicts the aftermath of one such bombing, connected to the events in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1946. As part of this lesson, you will be assigned a position, that is either supporting or opposing the decision made by the United States to use atomic weapons against Japan. Behing by researching key factors such as the projected invasion of Japan, casualty estimates, Japan;’s military stance at the time, and the humanitarian consequences of nuclear warfare.
