Delegates from across the United States met as part of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from May 25, 1787, through September 17, 1787. Originally selected to revise of the Articles of Confederation, in just a few months these several dozen representatives would create the longest lasting written Constitution in history.
