This is the Declaration of Independence. This version is called the “Print of the Declaration of Independence” and it represents how the original Engrossed Declaration of Independence looked (engrossed means to write in a large, clear hand).

In this document, the American colonies listed grievances, or complaints, against the British Crown and King George III and declared that they were breaking from British rule to form free and independent states.
