On March 12, 1933, a little over a week after his inaugural address, President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave a “fireside chat” – the first in a series of approximately 30 such talks throughout his Presidency.
Read the following text of the fireside chat. As you read, make note of any statements, phrases, or selections that you think are important, interesting, and/or innovative. Explain why you choose the selections that you did.
