President Theodore Roosevelt is known as the "conservationist president." He was president from 1901-1909. During his presidency, he created the United States Forest Service and established 150 national forests, 51 federal bird reserves, 4 national games preserves, 5 national parks, and 18 national monuments through the American Antiquities Act.
